Yes. Upload any MP4 or MOV file and Replace Actor will analyze the existing footage and extract the script and motion data needed to generate the replacement. The best results come from footage with a clear single actor, a relatively stable camera, and a reasonably clean background. Videos with complex multi-person scenes, heavy color grading, or fast handheld camera movements are harder to process accurately. Contact support if you have footage you're unsure about — we can assess it before you commit a credit to the replacement process.

The original audio is preserved by default in all Replace Actor outputs. The new actor's lips are re-synced to the original audio track so they appear to be speaking the original words. Alternatively, you can choose to regenerate audio using the new actor's voice, which produces a fully native result where both the visual and audio components match the replacement actor. In either case, any background audio, music, or sound effects present in the original footage are preserved and mixed appropriately with the new audio so nothing is lost from the original production.

The most common reasons are: (1) A creator's contract has expired and you need to continue using high-performing content — Replace Actor lets you legally swap them out rather than pulling the creative entirely. (2) You want to test the same ad with different demographic actors to find which audience alignment performs best without rebuilding the ad. (3) Your brand positioning has changed and you need a different actor type. (4) You have licensing restrictions on certain markets and need a market-appropriate actor. All four use cases save significant time and production cost versus re-filming the entire ad from scratch.

Our AI maps the motion data from the original actor — including head movements, gesture timing, body position, and key expression beats — and applies it to the replacement actor's performance. The result maintains the general energy and timing of the original while adapting it naturally to the new actor's physical proportions and movement style. Exact movement replication is not always possible when actors have significantly different physical builds, but the overall performance rhythm and timing is preserved consistently. For highest accuracy, choose replacement actors with similar physical proportions to the original actor in the footage.
